Clue® Counsel Module
Clue® Counsel produces accurate and complete case papers quickly, through the automatic cross-checking of Exhibits and Witness Statements. All data required for case preparation can be derived from existing data in Clue® Sentinel.
Preparing a complete and accurate set of case papers can be one of the most time consuming parts of an investigation. Accuracy is vital as any errors could potentially lead to the loss of the court case. Not only does the set of case papers have to be produced, but all the witnesses need to be contacted so that a list of unavailable dates can be compiled to enable a suitable date for the court case to be chosen.
Clue® Counsel, in combination with Clue® Sentinel, takes care of all of these administrative tasks. A set of case papers that would take months to put together by hand can be produced in just a few days using Clue® Counsel. This means that investigators are quickly freed up for other tasks. For example, one of our customers put together a case in three hours that would otherwise have taken three weeks to complete.

Clue® Counsel also enables the automatic compilation and printing of the following reports:
- Report of Witness Statements with resumés
- Report of Interviews with resumés
- Report of Exhibits and Property as a 'where found' list.
Forms and reports can be printed in a paginated bundle, or can be saved electronically as PDF files and written to CD, thus reducing paper wastage.
Automatic cross-checking of Statements and Exhibits
In order to ensure that the case papers are as accurate as possible, the Clue® Counsel module enables you to perform four types of cross-checking:
- Witnesses check
- Exhibits check
- Statements check
- Unclassified records check.
Selection, classification and ordering of Statements and Exhibits
All records can be classified for inclusion on the appropriate MG Form, e.g. Used, Unused, Unused Sensitive, and not classified. For example, records can be classified as Used, Unused, Unused Sensitive, not used but need to disclose to the defence, and not classified. Classification can be undertaken as the records are entered onto the system, on a record-by-record basis as the investigation progresses, and on multiple records simultaneously (bulk updates).
Clue® Counsel allows default templates to be set up per resource; each template can be configured to include or exclude the information to be displayed on the MG Form. There is, of course, the option to exclude material from any MG Form if the information is deemed irrelevant. A report that lists and details the unclassified information can be produced.
Production of Court Bundle
This facility enables the selection and ordering of Witnesses, and the generation of Witness List MG9 from Statements classified as Used.
From Statements classified as Used, the Case Officer can select and order Witnesses as required and a Witness List MG9 form is generated; the related Exhibits are automatically ordered and an Exhibit List is generated. If the order in which the Witnesses are due to appear changes, the order of the Exhibits is automatically re-generated.
The Court Bundle, consisting of the Witness List MG9 form, a paginated bundle of Witness Statements with index, and an Exhibit List, can be re-ordered and re-printed as many times as required. The Court Bundle record is only locked when the Case Officer is happy that it is ready and marks it as 'Completed for Submission'. Subsequent submissions of additional evidence are catered for - the page numbering allows for new Statements / Witnesses to be inserted between existing Witnesses.
Password protection
If required, all data recorded in Clue® Counsel can be password protected.
Numerous additional features
