Gangmasters Licensing Authority (GLA)
As a newly formed unit the Enforcement Team had specific requirements for a robust Electronic Case Management System (ECMS). Paul Smith, Head of Enforcement (GLA), was keen to ensure that the Enforcement Team could utilise a system that would assist in conducting investigations to the criminal standard and comply with:
- Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE);
- Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act 1996 (CPIA);
- Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA).
To understand the key requirements BOM worked closely with the GLA. It was quickly identified that an end solution would be required to operate the investigative processes accurately, efficiently, effectively and securely. A further significant requirement was the ability for staff to access the system remotely and outside of office hours; for example, for home based workers or when Enforcement Officers are conducting enquiries out in the field - negating the need to return to the office or home.
After a thorough review of the requirements and discussions with the GLA, BOM was pleased that their Clue®2 system was chosen to provide an effective ECMS within the Enforcement Team, by the implementation of Clue® Sentinel Operations and Clue® Counsel. More »
Bristol Trading Standards

Gloucestershire Constabulary
